Thin Prep Pap Smear
A thin prep pap smear, vulvar vestibulitis, dysplasia of the cervix and other problems can be determined with a Pap smear.
In some cases, however, specific abnormalities may be easier to identify with the standard method. A slightly increased discovery of cellular anomalies over standard cytology is an advantage, thus, the risk of a false negative result is reduced. This type of test is an alternative choice to typical cytology.

One major advantage of this form of cytology is that a clinician can demand a HPV hybrid capture test if the usual cytology findings result in specific abnormalities.
