Reasons For Abnormal Pap Smear
There are many reasons for abnormal pap smear; the minor disorders detected in the cervix are usually treated with cryosurgery, such as venereal wart.
Shedding of cells from the endometrium to the cervix also provides for positive results. Benign cells may look unusual if there is an infection of other disorder affecting the vagina or cervix. Changes in the cervix may be caused by either benign or malignant cells, which leads to inflammation of the tissue.
