Pap Smear Ascus
The result of a pap smear ascus usually indicates the presence of HPV, also being vulnerable to other infections such as urethritis.
A Digene Hybrid Capture Test is particularly helpful in this situation. Many pathologists will grade these as normal while others will grade them as abnormal. Defined as atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, this term refers to the least abnormal grade.
