Pap Smear During Period
A pap smear during period, or menstration, is not recommended, making it hard to test for the wart causing human papillomavirus.
Ideally, a woman should have examination in mid-cycle, when the risk for false positive results is minimal. Women close to menstruation may shed a certain amount of cells, which may result in the appearance of endometrical cells and provide for ASCUS diagnosis.
