Abnormal Pap Result
An abnormal pap result could indicate the presence of the human papilloma virus or cervical dysplasia.
If an irregular cytology reading is determined, case management may encompass additional clinical visits for further evaluation. Higher sensitivity levels of co-collected HPV DNA specimens increase the likelihood of identifying high-risk type HPV infections notoriously linked with cervical cancer and concurrently deter potentially unnecessary higher cost diagnostic procedures.
